Back to the teen years.
Confession…I was making fun of the women who were reading these books and then I was hit over the head with one by a friend’s tween daughter. She felt it was my duty to my kidlets to read them and know the topic. Yeah, right…um, okay…
Fast-forward to the Iron Man trip in Idaho and me sitting at the table like a anti-social knob with my nose in this book for two straight days. Holly (fellow Iron Man widow) actually caught me in the bathroom brushing and reading. Sheesh! (never mind the frightening running do and outfit…fashion is far from the list when working out these days).

I was obsessed! I don’t think the writing is that strong, but man, that woman knows how to express what every woman wants to feel from her guy. I could totally picture Edward, the lead character (if you haven’t fallen into the mire yet), and I just wanted to see the movie right away!

Silliness. Sigh.
Anyway, I’m finishing the Tour de Teen Read on our NY and Hawaii trips this summer. I can’t help it! Please tell me, MPG pals, that some of you have fallen into this trap!

Join the fun here.
Or here…
Kissing scenes in movies need to hold that “just before the lips touch” excitement to hold my interest. The all-time BEST is from It’s a Wonderful Life, but a close second is from the Twilight (which I just saw with my mom on Friday night)—it sticks with you, btw—must be Mr. Edward’s menacing/tortured eyes.
Kissing is one of life’s great pleasures—I remember those moments (especially during the infatuation/lust part of dating) when your noses are touching and the lips are just about there and you hold eye contact for a moment…every so often I’ll ask for one of these kisses and it still is the best. Phew! Getting pitted out over here. Somebody stop me
For the full-on KISS PIC–this is one of my faves…

And if you’re really desperate for some fodder, check this out. Hoo-boy!!!
Off to NY this a.m…reading (naturally) the second book in the series on the plane…that is, of course, if my kids are sitting with PH across the aisle.
OX.

Couple of points here…you know me and sailors (married one, my dad is one etc etc…)well, that photo is among my top 2 photos (that and the Robert Doineaux (sp?) that hangs in Le Petite Cuisine here in W, NY and on the wall in my first apartment). Second point is, of course, the whole kiss thing… the way the stomach sort of goes up and down…ah, my favorite part of early romance and even now, almost 18 years of kissing the same man!!! Still get the fluttery stomach when that proper kiss is planted! As for It’s a Wonderful Life… top 10 movie favorites for me. As for Twilight…my infatuated niece roped me into this quick and easy read. Do love young love. The casting and scenery was perfect. Just saw the coming attractions of the second moveie and it looks to be even better than the first!! Must read the book first though. Ah well, see you in bit my dear friend… we can compare notes then!!! xo

I have fallen hook, line and sinker!! I too was on the “you can’t be serious” train. So you have made my day….to know there are other ‘mature’ fans. I’m married with 3 young kiddos so I’m not exactly the target demographic for these books:) I just saw the movie last week on dvd and was mesmerized….then I happened to be waiting in line at TJMAXX and there they were; the novels Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. Well I couldn’t resist (though I didn’t get Twilight since I had just seen the movie). And in the spirit of full disclosure…….I’m already 1/4 of the way through Breaking Dawn.
Whewwww, I said it. I already feel a weight lifted:)

Ok Lara Blair-I must confess I have Hailey’s Twilight book in my bedroom drawer…I am afraid to start reading it because every person I have talked to whom have read it—-CAN NOT PUT IT DOWN UNTIL THEY ARE FINISHED…THEN-they have to go out and buy the next one and the next one and on and on until they have finished the entire series. Oh boy!!
now about your picture…I would expect nothing less from the Queen of Multi-tasking. I just gave a curtsey to my Queen. Love, Pati

I have seen the movie but I have not read the books. Everyone tells me how great they are. I started the first one and the writing was holding me back. I am going to try it again when we go to the beach. I have been told that I won’t be able to put it down…I will let you know. I can’t wait for New Moon…I watched all your clips;-)

Is it wrong I want my husband to put white paint on his face, wear some fangs, stand in a freezer so his hands are soooo cold, kiss me softly and call me Bella? Edward I love you! Love twilight! Can’t wait to see the movie.
