Farm house love
I miss the old farm houses in New York. MPG history: The Blairs lived in the Hudson Valley, an hour oustide Manhattan, from 2003-2006. It seemed every couple we befriended lived in a restored farm house from the 1800’s and could be featured in “Country Living” (and often was!). In fact, my old NY neighbor, who is a folk art dealer, had a huge article (with fantastic pics) about a soiree’ she had. My daughter actually got to be in one of the images..proud mama, I was.

In the Northwest, things are so new….yet there are a few people out here who build new “old” homes and they are fabulous. Now when I go through the mags in the secret place, it seems so many of the homes and design styles I love are from modern farmhouses. It’s a search for a prairie girl base with some contemporary touches that bring it all together in an oh-so-chic and playful way. I’ll write about my barn quest a little later..but it all starts with the main nest, doesn’t it?
