Beloved Bend

Hello, Lovelies! Sorry to be M.I.A. We’ve been hittin’ the road since school got out.

Our annual trip to Sunriver, OR was longer this year, thankfully.  We did it all! Including an adventure to Paulina Lake right up the road from Sunriver—it blew our minds and we can’t wait to go back with Syliva, the Airstream.

I love the panorama feature on the iPhone, don’t you? I took a lot them because the width  of the beauty in these Eastern Oregon places takes my breath away. All I need is a hammock!

This swimming hole/waterfall was is tucked away in the hills and we wouldn’t have found it if it weren’t for a friendly camper at the lake.

We spent a better part of the day in here.

There were also some incredible lava fields involved. Obsidian as far as the eye could see. So cool!

I’ve always wanted to paddle board. You know…those tough-looking girls in the Athleta catalog make me want to climb on a board and drift away. The Deschutes river was perfect b/c it wasn’t too fast flowing and all four of us were out there for 2 hours.

Despite the  fact that the next morning I thought an elephant had sat on my arms, it was an incredible experience. I am currently on the hunt for a paddle board…thinking that might be a Craigslist in the winter thing. We have a calm lake here in our town that is begging for some on-the-lake recreation!

It was a great vacay and it can’t come again soon enough. It’s such a magical place! Speaking of magic…I will be ready with the Sylvia Reveal after she gets back from the Airstream hospital. The soggy winter conditions can do a lot to a girl. We have some fun planned this summer with our Sweet Sylvia.

Found this video on Pinterest and thought it was so clever:

Have a wonderful 4th, Lovelies!

If you don’t want an airstream after that video?! Can’t wait to see what you’ve done with her! I had no idea there were lava fields out there – how neat! Paddle Boarding – very cool. They are offering lessons at the beach I am at right now but they have been booked up every day! However maybe i need to work on my arms before I try now! SO glad you guys are having a great time – Happy Fourth!
