When things happen that I can’t wrap my brain around…like the terrible events of last week. I revert back to old behaviors that help me deal…bed-making and nest fluffing. The methodical act of moving things around the abode (as well as my crack, board creation on Pinterest) seems to help quiet my mind and heart.
Currently, the new glossy of choice is EST. So lovely and chock full of my favorite kind of design.
Of course, it’s an Australia thing—they’ve got some seriously good design down there. Dying to go to Melbourne at some point. The latest issue has such beautiful, simple spaces that take my breath away.

I’m just beginning the hunting and gathering of images for a project that will involve a 900 foot vaulted space (now an empty shell) on our property. I’m thinking that because my main house is so colorful and playful, this new space should be serene and calm, with the simplest of décor. I’m calling it Girls Playhouse Loft (PH is unaware of this snazzy name) and my idea gatherings so far are here.
Because the abode is in the forest, I like all of the natural wood elements in this kitchen. This project will be a long drawn out process, so the ideas might change.
Fun to dream, though.

I hope you had a lovely weekend and the week ahead is shiny and bright. My big interview with the school district is Thursday night. I’d appreciate prayers for a great outcome. I’ve been practicing in my shower every day—-I’m ready and excited!
