This is a big new sign I made for my booth at Camas Antiques. It is here as well. I was feeling it yesterday as I watched the “dreams into plans” day unfold for my kidlets.
My youngest is healing and we actually set up her upright at the table so she could work on the homework that’s been piling up. In our pain management phase there wasn’t a lot of work getting done, and being an extremely driven kid, this was driving her crazy. A lot was accomplished in a few short hours and her final small book project turned out so fabulously (art on every page) that her mood was lifted. I think she now feels that she can get on with it. Fiberglass cast goes on again Monday…gonna be a long day, but she’s ready.
My oldest had the dream of making the A team in volleyball try outs at school and called me yesterday with an extremely loud proclamation of achievement. Being atheletic is important to her–this sport is also a great validation for someone who is almost 5’10″ in the 7th grade. Of course, adults all say, “How awesome that she’s so tall!” Not really the feelings of my girl when she’s towering over everyone in the lunch line…so this was a great thing.
It was the day we needed to jumpstart what I hope will be a great season for both of them.
Lovelies, I hope you’re having a great week and finding the wind-up for the holidays to be fun instead of stressful. Thank you for your kind comments and emails–they helped a lot!
Happy weekend~
