I love Jessica Todd Harper’s portrait work. It’s very thought-provoking making  you curious about what’s going on inside the scene. Some of it looks a little unsettling…like there may be some kind of underlying problem, but some images just seem peaceful and serene.

“Interior Exposure”, Jessica’s book, is a nice addition to every growing MPG portrait book collection

She likes beds. I like beds. It’s a bed thing. I’ve been using a queen sized bed in the studio a lot this year. Little kidlets jumping their hearts out are my fave images–as well as new moms having a moment with their newborns. I guess I just love being in bed myself…not spending enough time there these days, methinks.  PH and I had this love nest in our first house in NE Portland. It was tiny, tiny, tiny, but we loved it immensely. In the summer, the window unit air conditioner could cool it down on a 100 degree night in about four minutes. There was just enough room for a double bed and a golden retriever at the end of it—picture a 6’6” man sleeping sideways and a 5’5” woman wedged in a little triangular piece of bed on the side…that was us…but funny enough, I loved it and at times I miss that little room.

Some fave images…bedside~

Love this blog!!! Love what you wrote about your bed and sleeping arrangements. The coziness is what makes it! Dogs, kids, the full pile on in the bed is my world. And usually the dog has her head on my pillow while I lay at the end of the bed…

Ok Sister…….there have been times where you have blown me away with your creativity, but MPG is over the top! I do confess that every morning I wake up thinking “UMMMMM I wonder what is on it today”. I love the pictures….I don’t have to read all of the magazines to look at the cream of the crop. Very nice. Keep up the great work of reading, writing and sharing. Love, Pati

Don’t forget the ‘belt girl’ at Pike Place. Go on, make me jealous!

I totally forgot about that! Should I ask for the Lulu special? Where did you get your piece of leather that all of uber-cool buckles attach to? Does the belt goddess sell those too?

Hey Lora! Going to visit your art show near Camas Hotel! May I be a model for you? Anyways, your work has inspired me! Thank you:)
