After the Ameena Project event at our house, I’ve been doing so much thinking about what it means to have nothing…and how I have absolutely no idea what that feels like. I mentioned that I read Jen Hatmaker’s book 7,
which got me reducing and simplifying and thinking hard about our excessive culture. Then I read a book over our Canada trip that kind of ruined me for a bit…in a good way.
Katie’s story is a game-changer for many…I’ve never drenched a book with tears the way I did with this one. Her blog will blow your mind. What she has become is the hands and feet...what so many people in our country have failed to do.
FEED MY LAMBS, He says.
That is her life.
Truly inspiring and such an important book!

Gearing up to read this one coming in my mailbox soon.
I really like Jeff Goins a lot–He is a writers’ writer with awesome advice on his blog about the craft of writing. He’s a keeper, for sure.
Are you sensing a theme here?
I’m starting to worry a little…what if some kind of holy passion rises up inside this crazy girl and I do something drastic?
Hmmmm….could be a good adventure.
Are any you lovelies feeling the feelings I’m having? It’s about wanting to take less…serve more…value what’s here….so many stirrings in this MPG heart of mine.
Would love to hear about what inspires you~
Here’s hoping your kids-back-in-school days are productive and lovely, lovely.

You have no idea how happy it makes me to find someone who “gets” me and is on this same journey! Love it all Lara!
Yes! I read “7″ this summer and have been following Katie Davis’s story for a few years. That’s part of what made it an easy choice to be involved with the Ameena Project. And it’s been inspiring us to do something off the comfortable, easy path we’ve been on. In fact, we ARE planning to do something drastic. Hope to see you at the workshop later in September and chat about these things!
“…take less, serve more, value what’s here…” THANK YOU for these simple yet tremendously powerful words!!! Just what I needed to hear today. You’ve inspired me!
