Modern Prairie Girl ~ Fab Photo Friday

Muse~ Melody Ross

Poem~ Gabriela Mistral

Let us go now into the forest.

Trees will pass by your face,

and I will stop and offer you to them,
but they cannot bend down.

The night watches over its creatures,
except for the pine trees that never change:

the old wounded springs that spring
blessed gum, eternal afternoons.

If they could, the trees would lift you
and carry you from valley to valley,

and you would pass from arm to arm,

a child running…

…from father to father.

TUTORIALS for shooting in a forest with broken tree branch light….

Tutorial #1

Tutorial #2

(for some reason my videos won’t load the way they usually do…if anyone of you have any tips to fix this, I’d be grateful!)

Working on a concept shoot with dear friends is one of the great joys I have in this creative life. So grateful for friends who are willing to put themselves out there and for the bond that it creates in a friendship. Melody is working on some very exciting things…look to her journey and the Brave Girl classes, as well, for inspiration. Brave Girls is one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself.

Have a lovely weekend, lovelies~

    Gorgeous! LOVE the poem too!!

  3. Johanne says:

Very stunning photos!! What a concept! If I may provide additional comment, I would of liked to see less fuss on the hair style and heavy make-up as to be “one with nature”.

  4. I just found your blog for the first time through Melody’s blog. Oh MY GOODNESS! Your photography is AMAZING. What a wonderful talent you’ve been given. It is so wonderful that you choose to use your photography to bring out the unique and special qualities in a person or your subject. it is so evident here in Melody’s photo shoot. I have always been in love with trees myself since a little girl, so this really touched my soul.
So glad I’ve found you and your blog today.
