MPG Fab Finds

The “Look! Something shiny!”s are at it again.

I love it when that happens.

I’ve got a random mix for you this Monday morning as I prepare to take care of a sick kid today. I have a hard time looking at listless kidlets on the couch…makes me worry..but my little horse girl is tough (even though this is round 2 on the “ick”..with a fever this time) and hopefully we’ll be up and at-’em soon.

Desire to Inspire is the newest book from one of my all time favorite mixed media arists, Christine Mason Miller.

She is uber-talented, but more than that she’s completely aware of what it takes to live a whole hearted life. If you have some podcast listening time, I recommend her latest interview with one of my favorite women of constant inspiration, Kimberly Wilson.

Totally random, but air popped popcorn is my next inspiration this week, as it is helping me to snack correctly. I’ve got some tropical travel on the horizon and I’m working my way into stepping out from behind the sarong while I’m there.

This little guy was $20 and I use every day. It is especially yummy when paired with the cheese powder (sounds weird, but it’s pretty tasty) from Tar-jay in the popcorn aisle.

My current fave design blog is Bright Bazaar, with adorable Will from England. ‘Got the best tip about the newest on-line travel glossy. I have tremendous wanderlust, and this glossy fits the bill for some serious daydreaming.

This song has been ringing in my ears (and in my car) for weeks by NewworldSon…and I adore it.

There is a lot going on for me with this topic and I like feeling inspired and brave when I hear it.

Found this photographer on Google+ and she is doing some awesome silhouette work on the beaches in San Diego.

I love it when a pro photog  finds a niche so personal and brilliant. Erika seems quite lovely, in that she has a site strictly to share free stuff with other photographers. LOVE that!

I’ll be doing an exhibit of my horse images for First Thursday this week at the First Congregational Church on Park in Portland with my pal, painter Teena Wood.

Here’s the link. If you’re in town, I’d love to see at the artist’s reception between 5 and 9 pm.

Here’s hoping you and yours are healthy, lovelies…goodness knows I’ve been hearing some scary croupey coughs out and about. Got my Airborne on board!

OX.

P.S. Elida’s and my Italy adventure  is coming soon…this is the chance for some serious fun with photograpy and art and

 I-T-A-L-Y….ahhh. yes. Come join us!

We gave up our microwave 9 months ago to help us stop eating yucky food and got a toaster oven instead. It is amazing how much weird stuff is in microwave popcorn. We love our air popper too and find that we spend way less money on it and get a lot more. White popcorn vs. yellow is the best and we have every flavor I think there is of that “Cheesy” stuff there is. Our Tar-jey sometimes has a jalepeno, a chili, and a white cheddar from the same company – just for a little variety! Congratulations on the show and good luck! I know it will be wonderful!
