MPG nest fluffing…

Put these finds on my farm table and they just sparkled in the light…added some lavender…and

of course..

took them outside to the white paper for their close-up.

‘Couldn’t resist.

I’ve been abode fluffing like crazy. I think it comes with slowing down a bit and being more present and more aware of my nest and the people in it…one of my main goals of 2011.

Seems kind of silly, but I’ve been longing to cover my books after I read my dear friend, Laurie’s post. I really like it! Even can read the spine titles I put on in pencil.

I’ve got a lot of creams in my house, but I also have some reds and they need to be broken up with a clean palette..hence the cream accessories and books.

I’ve been trying to decide forever what to put in my vintage frames above the wood stove..hmmm…today I was thinking of silhouettes in a chocolate brown on some fun fabric. Your opinion? Any cool ideas? It’s such a focal point in the room that I want it to be fun and eye-catching.

I put the lavender back…they rattle when we eat, but what are ya gonna do?

Found this abacus at Monticello last week. I’ve been looking for a mongo one (like 20×30), but it seems that this is only find-able in overpriced catalogues that shall remain nameless :)

I had the frame and I like putting fun finds inside them like treasures.

The egg basket is from Junk Salvation…i found some twine rolls at Camas AntiquesGOOD GRIEF, I have a junking habit…seriously, friends…a little out of hand..but SO FUN!

Just started a globe collection for Katie’s room…I think it looks great…and it’s fun to have another treasure to hunt for. We shall aspire to create one like the ones below…where do you find teeny tiny ones?

Have a great rest of your week, Lovelies!

Mine started out well…’had an amazing friend come rescue me at the studio in the middle of an organizing crisis. So great to have friends who understand your shortcomings and come runnin’ when you’re hollerin’ on FB about it 😉 Thank you, Krista!

It’s supposed to snow here on Wednesday…I’ll believe it when I see it!

Thanks for the reminder – I haven’t been to Camas Antiques in a while. Plan to head there today!

One thought for the frames struck me as I was reading this post: poppies. This could tie in your red and add that focal point, but still call to mind running freely through the meadows, singing and laughing. Maybe a big single red poppy in each one? Oh wait…on white paper, right? :) Anyhow, that image just popped into my head when I saw this, but I’m sure whatever you choose will be as gorgeous as everything you’ve shared here. Love those tiny globes, too! So cool!

  3. Thanks for stopping by my blog! I love Warwick! We often go over there for lunch and to walk around the town. Lots of artists over that way too, my favorite being Jobathan Talbot. Good luck on the west coast! Very different than NY. Your website is lovely, love your style and photos.
    all the best,

If you ever come East we have to shop together! In your 2nd photo w/ the globe collection I spied one that I have! the 3rd one from the left with the multi-colored base. It is all metal and has some interesting divides on the bottom, I have no clue what they mean! I got it at a thrift store, I’ve noticed a lot of globes at thrift stores lately. I bought it to go in my sons room w/ some other vintage metal toy barns and such. As for your frames try a really bold pop of color, like the color of deep purple hydrangeas , that would draw your eye in right away. Will also give you a bit of that springtime you crave. Just a thought!
    Good Luck…
